There are many other treatments. There are cortisone shots and other medications you can try. I suffer from back issues and thru med changes and therapy and shots I am a new women. Keep up with the ice, try to elevate it also after you pop it back in to further reduce the swelling. I would certainly tell your doctor as well. Good luck. There are several anti-inflammatories on the market that can assist with the pain and perhaps some physical therapy. Contact your local physician and hopefully, he will be able to help you or refer you to a rheumatologist. You may want to stay a rheumatologist to help you with this because arthritis can be crippling and if gone untreated for long periods of time can cause severe problems in your joints. There are numerous anti-inflammatories on the market that can help with the pain and perhaps some physical therapy.
