additional pain medication such аѕ percocet
all you can do is question….some Dr’s are not huge on prescribing pain meds for ongoing conditions. You may question about referral to a pain clinic.
You need to let your Dr know that the drugs they are charitable you are not controlling your pain and talk to him/her about a pain management regiment. Percocet are naturally not a long term pain relief – they give you relief for a couple of hours in a “spike” and then you are in pain again until the next dosage. But, they do give this for the small term, as in charitable you a referral to a pain management clinic so that the PM (pain management) can get you ongoing on a longer lasting medication with possible Percocet for any “break through” pain you may have while on the longer lasting medication(s). If your Dr. is not comfortable charitable you pain management himself (which most aren’t, they send you to a pain management clinic) you need to get that referral from him ASAP so you can start to live your life in a better quality. There is no reason for you to live in pain and the pain clinics have a much better mind set about this than most regular Dr’s do since this is the reason they are in business. Please don’t hesitate to talk to your Dr about this and make an appointment with him/her at the earliest possible date you can get. The longer you wait the harder it is to control your pain. Pain control is being paid it under control, not waiting until it is terrible and then doing something about it! If you have the kind of insurance that you don’t need a referral then find a PM clinic in your network and make that appointment yourself – you can tell them that you discussed the pain management with your Dr but he/she is not assisting you or is hesitant to prescribe this type of medication in an ongoing treatment so you came to them. Excellent luck to you and I do hope you see a pain Dr very very soon.
RA Rheumatoid Arthritis is dealt with by a Rheumatologist. They dedicate yourself to in RA and so it is up to them to choose your treatment. If you are in pain you need to tell your Rheumatologist, not your Doctor. You do not state what ‘other problems’ you have, but the other problems could be drug related, the drugs you are taking for RA, or they could be associated with RA, any way you need to inform your Rheumatologist. Best of Luck
