yea i have the same problem and no it wont heal. it just hurts! i take pain meds and use those heat raps, they really work.
this happened to me didnt do anything for about 6 months and now it feels fantastic but still not back to its self
you need rest dont go it to much
and physical therapy helps a ton

Yes, it causes arthritis and pinched nerves possibly from the scar bandanna.
