I don’t know what else to call it for myself but if you are having distress with your wrist you can have tendons that have tightened up which they do when they sense pain around them. Constant use is one way they feel pain. You can release the tendons and get relief that way. Here is how to release them for that relief:
    Wrist:
With hand resting in front of you and your wrist bent half way closed, press down hard slightly behind the wrist and hold that pressure. After 30 seconds slowly open your wrist up as far as you can, release the pressure but hold your wrist open for another 30 seconds.

The hallmark signs of carpal tunnel syndrome are numbness and tingling into the first three digits in addition to pain and regularly weakness. Pain JUST at the wrist can be the beginning of CTS, or it can be a number of other hand related diagnoses including arthritis, ligament tears, tendonopathy, etc. More would need to be known about your history as well as an appropriate examination.
