Have used the polos and standing wrap/ quilts in the rehabilitation from PRP therapy on an ancient(er) recurring check ligament injury. Horse was approximately 2 weeks back into his riding program, still only at walk when we incorporated polos.
About a month after the procedure we used the BOT quilts. At this time hie protocol was to have the wraps on only at nighttime or during his 1 hour silent turn out in the round pen.
Beware though: All their products are meant to increase blood flow, so you have to wean the horse ON to the quilts (considering as how standing wraps are meant to stay on for longer periods, like overnight). We gave the horse is turn out for 1 hour with them, then gradually increased the time, an hour additional each few days, until he was up to 4 hours a day. At that point, we just swapped his regular quilts for the BOT.
Since we switched, I cannot say if they expedited healing (no comparison case study with the same type of injury in my barn). But, the horse went to VSF and did very well in his adult eq division. I judge his rider came home with reserve?
Fairfield Equine strongly endorses this product. That’s the vet for the USET. If it’s excellent enough for them, I kinda reckon it’s excellent enough for me.
