How to help terminal cancer patient verify insurance rejections?
A close family friend Tһеу аrе аƖѕο requesting upfront payments аѕ high аѕ $5,000 before сеrtаіח treatments wіƖƖ bе carried out. I аm wondering іf anyone knows οf a service wһο саח verify tһе rejections аחԁ intervene οח һіѕ behalf. Hе аחԁ һіѕ family јυѕt want tο take pleasure іח tһіѕ time without worrying аbουt insurance manoeuvering.
The insurance company’s objective is to pay $0, then arm wrestle you for each damn penny.
The name Humana is a lark, considering how inhuman they truly are
try your state insurance commission. They regularly have an appeal process. If this person has only a small time left it is better to keep him/her comfortable than trying to prolong his life with treatments that may only be causing more pain.
There is a law firm that does just this for cancer patients I can’t remember their name right now, but the American Cancer Society provided me with direct mail for a assembly I was having at one of my hospitals a couple of years ago. Give your local chapter a call and they should be able to refer you. It is just disgusting that these people do this to patients and their families at a time when time is the most precious thing they have. Best wishes.
I had a similar problem and establish out they were using incorrect tax code for my particular insurance and sometimes they used the incorrect procedure code. A call to my insurance company for info and then a call to my dr or hospital insurance coordinator cleared it up. That may be a place to start and if that doesn’t work, Denise has excellent advice. My largest problem was being told they were a ppo and they weren’t or they were but the dr they place me with, wasn’t…did I pay the extra fees? No…
