The only thing I can say is that I injured my rotator cuff tendons in my early 20s while exercising at the gym. I am now 47 years ancient and I still have constant problems with my shoulder. So, yes, 22 years and counting of shoulder pain. Sometimes it hurts to raise my arm above my head.
Not to be discouraging or anything, that is just my experience.
I strongly suggest that you go to a physical therapist and DO EXACTLY WHAT THEY SAY. I am worried maybe I did not do my exercises the right way enough. I wonder if I had been better at doing those exercises, I would be better off now.
Excellent luck and yes, physical therapy will help you if you do what they tell you to do.
