yes your popping a fluid each time you crack you knuckles.
No i don’t judge so.
There is no causal link between cracking your knuckles and increasing their size, or your chance for arthritis. That’s what you would call an “ancient wives tale”
In fact a study published honestly recently establish that occasional cracking of the knuckles can lubricate the joints and decrease your chance for arthritis.
absolutely,i am living proof, and i tell my daughter to stop, her knuckles swell so terrible in the winter and hurts, she is paying for not listening, she is only 19.so yep,it does.nope no air.lol
No, that is a myth. I cracked my knuckles all the time as a kid and do not have arthritis and my knuckles are not huge.
I would reckon it causes arthritis, since when you crack your knuckles you’re wearing down the cartilage in your joints…
Im not sure, but I do reckon its air thats in the joint, or it could be just because you’re popping it out and back into place.
I don’t crack my knuckles but I occasionally crack my toes when I stand up or after I wake up. I would reckon it has some long term effectss, but about the joints growing in size, I don’t know. My ex-step member of the clergy told me the same thing. I’d question your doc about it next time you go.
The sound is just air being popped out by your joint. This doesn’t cause any hurt, but like any repetitive strain, if you do it too much, you may find that it leaves a dull pain for a small while if you over do it, and of course doing it enough will cause wear on the cartilage and strain on ligaments and tendons.
