Gee…I can’t believe no one has thought of that yet!
(Sorry, you probably can’t hear the sarcasm in my voice)

Because they wouldn’t make any money that way? Drug research is insanely expensive, and when new drugs are made the company that made that drug gets their patent for 10 years before it can even be reverse engineered by other companies.

Like it or not, the largest jumps in technology and knowledge have come from private capitalist investments and research. You have to let them make there money or there wont be any new, better, drugs.

Besides, while many drugs do require a steady, long term dose, they are simply meant to help the human body’s anti-bodies and immune systems. The body is a runs on multiple intricate chemical balances and when a pill is absorbed into the bloodstream and carried to the target area in the body, that amount of medicine will eventually get used up by the body or cleaned out by the blood’s filtering system (the liver.)

Because different public respond differently to things.

Any “cures” that have been made for anything will NOT work for everyone because public have different body chemistries. I have to give that answer every day because public don’t realize it. It’s the same reason that there are so many drugs and so many supplements that do the same general thing (whether it be for the lungs/asthma, allergies, joints/arthritis, etc, etc.).

In a crowd of 1,000 public, you’d be hard pressed to find anything that they will all agree on. They won’t all like the same food, music, color, fabric, or anything else you can point out… and they REALLY won’t all have the exact same reaction to anything they can ingest. That’s just the nature of living beings in general.

Even moreso than that, there are different causes to different problems, which will affect what will “cure”/help that problem. With cholesterol, it could be affected by diet, heredity, background, amount of exercise, and other factors….. nothing on earth (including lifestyle change) can affect every one of those.

Aside from that, there’s also the conspiracy theorists that proclaim that the drug companies have conspired with the doctors and FDA to keep the general population just a small sick so they will permanently need doctors and drugs. There’s also the theories that the government is tiresome to kill us by keeping us on drugs and away from natural health products.

Although it does mean a lot more money for drug companies to keep public on maintenance doses of drugs for all these conditions, there is another answer as well: the human body is very, very complex. Right now, although we know a lot about how the body works, we still have a long way to go to get to the root of many of the interactions that cause these problems. We need to learn how to “turn things off” rather than “hit the mute button” and that’s harder than it seems.
I do have faith that, eventually, actual cures to these problems will be found.

Money. Plain and Unadorned. If there were a cure, public wouldn’t need to waste as much money.

You know, every so often a person comes along who really uses the brain that God gave them.
I’d give you 50 pts. if I could.
We all know why they don’t.
The proclamation then is….THEY CAN, BUT THEY WON’T.
How many public have died/or spent a lifetime of
agony/or used their last dollars, just to buy magic dust
that really does nothing. Most of it does not heal. It’s the body that heals itself.
Have you ever sat in a Drs Ofc and waited so long that
the pain went away and you
    just left? I have.
    Yes, its all about money,
    not about healing.
    But thankfully, more public
    are turning to Alternative
    therapies where there is still
healing. There are many ways public can heal themselves lacking the hellp of Huge Pharma. The main problem now is that Huge Pharma is tiresome to outlaw all
Alternative Therapies, as life unproven,no clinical
    trials, no FDA approval. It’s
all geared for the benefit of
    Huge Pharma…..not healing
or cures. When it comes, please don’t let “them” take away our last chance for
    health.

There is no money in a cure. The money is in the research.
If you cure a name, they don’t have to buy anything else. But, if you are treating them, they have to keep coming back.
Sorry, but in a market based economy, that’s the way it is.

It would make too much sense to do that. I don’t know if you’ve noticed this, but the main source of entertainment in the medical meadow seems to be life the largest pain in the **** possible and screwing up public’s lives. Plus, public’s suffering is a source of steady income for both doctors and drug companies. If cures were found, doctors could no longer afford to make payments on their fancy cars, swimming pools, etc. Unfortunately, money makes the world go round these days…
